Sara Price has transformed her passion for racing into a unique motorsports paradise. Located along the Colorado River in Mohave Valley, Arizona, Rip & Dip Ranch is a 10,500-square-foot workshop and private retreat that blends high-octane action with serene river days. As the first guests to visit, we experienced its magic firsthand. The day started with an ATV ride ripping through rugged desert trails, followed by a dip in the river, dinner on the beach, and an overnight stay in tents, all hosted by Price herself.
This isn’t just a garage or a vacation spot. It’s a symbol of Price’s relentless drive, a place where she shares the rewards of years spent battling it out in the competitive world of professional racing. As a pro racer who’s conquered off-road courses and high-stakes rallies, she understands the need for a tough, reliable basecamp, and now she’s inviting fellow enthusiasts to share that vision.
From Dream To Desert Reality
As a little girl, Price had big dreams. She drew sketches of her ideal property as a place split between a horse haven and a motorsports hub. That vision laid the foundation for Rip & Dip Ranch, a dream she has now brought to life.
Building it was no small feat. In 2021, Price and her boyfriend, fellow racer Ricky Brabec, purchased the four-acre property and dove into construction with no prior experience. It took four years, navigating challenges of permits and planning. They learned the hard way but never backed down.
“We had no idea what we were doing when it came to building a property. We learned all the hard ways to get to this point.”
The result is a sprawling facility with a private beach and dock along the Colorado River, perfect for unwinding after intense desert runs. Adding a personal touch, Price’s grandparents live just downriver, and Brabec’s family is upriver, making the ranch a family-centric hub that feels like destiny.
A Playground For Racers And Adventurers
Rip & Dip Ranch is a private haven for racers, teams, and partners who need a rugged testing ground. The harsh desert terrain and extreme climate with temperatures over 100 degrees make it ideal for pushing vehicles and drivers to their limits. Our ATV outing showed us exactly why teams are drawn here, tackling rocky paths that demand precision and toughness.
The 10,500-square-foot workshop is a gearhead’s dream, packed with machines and tools for building and tuning. Yet, it’s more than just a workspace. “This is exclusive and private, but if partners or companies or racers want somewhere to call home base, this is the place,” said Price. The riverfront adds a unique twist, offering a private beach for relaxation after a day of testing.
“The beach gives it a really cool attribute because it is very hot where we are, but it’s also very good testing for equipment.”
Our visit captured this balance perfectly. After tearing through trails, we enjoyed a sunset dinner by the water, then settled into tents for the night. It’s a lifestyle that blends bursts of adrenaline with serenity and makes the ranch a one-of-a-kind escape.
Grit Forged In Racing’s Heat
Price’s path to success mirrors the challenges of building her dream escape. In a male-dominated sport, she faced steep odds, honing her skills through countless hours of practice and perseverance. Every victory, from local races to international stages, was earned through sheer determination. Learning to turn setbacks into motivation for bigger goals was key.
It’s been a long journey to get here, and I’ve reached some success now. It’s crazy because it’s been a lot of hard work. It wasn’t given to me, it wasn’t handed to me.”
That grit drove the creation of Rip & Dip Ranch. It’s a place where Price not only lives her passion but also fosters a community for those who share it. We eat, live, breathe this life. That’s what Rip & Dip represents,” said Price. “This is a place that I now get to share with like-minded people and also our partners and friends and racers from around the world.”
Bringing Childhood Fantasies To Life
Price’s childhood dreams included more than just speed. She always wanted horses on the property, too. While that part of the ranch isn’t complete, she’s taking a charming step by adding some donkeys to the mix. “I did just rescue three donkeys, and we get them in a few weeks,” said Price.
Her advice for dreamers is simple but powerful – keep going. The road to success is long, with plenty of lows before the highs, but persistence pays off. “Sometimes it takes a lot longer for the luck or the positives to come around,” said Price. “As long as you don’t give up, I promise you, they will come around.”
Racing Toward New Horizons
Price’s ambitions extend far beyond the ranch. She recently secured a factory driver role with Jaguar Land Rover and is set to pilot the Defender in the Dakar Rally, the pinnacle of off-road racing. Having already won stages, she’s now gunning for the overall title. “I’m going to do everything I possibly can to make that happen,” said Price.
She’s ready to tackle the challenge of Dakar while continuing to build a legacy that inspires adventurers everywhere. Her ranch is a reminder that passion and perseverance can create extraordinary spaces, whether you’re drawn to the thrill of off-road racing or the calm of a riverside retreat.
