an oasis in the vibrant energy of Cape Town

The Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel is a restored National Monument from the early 1800s that was beautifully renovated in 2022 to blend heritage with contemporary luxury. The interiors are now styled with rich emerald greens, confident black-and-white details, and bold gold accents. Each of her 29 rooms and suites is furnished for comfort. The new Stable Suites offer ideal options for families or groups, with interleading and multi-bedroom configurations. Guests can relax in stylish shared spaces, whether soaking up the sun by the pools, enjoying quiet moments in the lounges, or taking time out in the wellness and fitness centre. The newly built Botanical Conservatory adds a touch of nature, while the Cadogan Bar brings a lively social energy to the hotel. A collaboration with Everard Read introduces contemporary African art throughout the hotel. Located on Cape Town’s Kloof Street, Cape Cadogan is close to boutique shops and restaurants, including the neighbouring Upper Union Restaurant.

Location

Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel is situated in the Cape Town suburb of Gardens, one of the city’s oldest and most sophisticated neighbourhoods, just outside of the main hustle and bustle.

Address: 5 Upper Union Street, Gardens, Cape Town

Weather

Cape Town enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters. Average maximum temperatures range from 18°C (64°F) in July to 27°C (81°F) in January, with July also seeing the lowest average minimum of 7°C (45°F). Most of the city’s 788 mm (31 in) of annual rainfall falls between May and August. With over 250 days of sunshine each year, Cape Town is generally bright and pleasant, but it’s not uncommon to experience ‘four seasons in a day’, so a light windbreaker is recommended, especially in spring or autumn.

Best time to travel

Cape Town is a year-round destination, with each season offering something unique depending on your interests. September marks the start of spring and the whale-watching season. The summer months from December to March are the hottest and most popular, perfect for beach days and outdoor activities. Autumn and winter (May to August) bring cooler temperatures and are ideal for thrill seekers, with excellent shark-cage diving conditions. The Cape Winelands are worth visiting in any season, offering exceptional food, wine, and scenery throughout the year.
