During just two months this summer, multiple Custom Line yacht owners celebrated the launch of their superyachts. Equally notable, these five launches add to an already-high 11 prior launches since January.
Among the projects the shipyard lowered into the water for the first time was hull number four of the Custom Line Navetta 38 yacht series. This is one of its newest models, making its premiere in 2024. Although the name the owners chose remains confidential, the builder does say that the owners and their family were intimately involved in the design from day one.
In fact, they wanted the 127-footer (38.76-meter) to be warm and welcoming for everyone from the youngest to the oldest. It was especially important that the alfresco spaces be comfortable and practical for spending a lot of their time. Since watersports and swimming are top priorities, the family and their friends, who include kids, intend to be in swimwear most days. Interiors, meanwhile, needed to be just as practical so that swimsuit-clad grown-ups and children can move between the on-deck and inside spaces freely. ACPV Architects and Custom Line Atelier, the shipyard’s own team, made it all possible by using waterproof fabrics on freestanding furniture.
Further practical touches accommodate the family’s needs. For example, a shared walk-in closet is on the main deck. Instead of a vanity in the master suite, also on the main deck, these Custom Line yacht owners requested bigger stowage spaces. Additionally, household-size appliances were a must. Speaking of appliances, a mini fridge is aboard, too, dedicated to ice cream.
The ice cream fans have a few places where they can enjoy their favorite flavor. The sundeck is perfect because it has seating for 10 to 12 people, for instance, plus a snack and grill area. Yet another big settee is on the upper deck. Anyone who enjoys ice cream regardless of the temperatures can tuck inside the Norwegian enclosure that can set up on the sundeck as well. It offers shelter from wind and cool air while still allowing everyone to take in the views.
The delivery of this true home on the water takes place before the end of the year.
The other four Custom Line launches this summer were hull number 26 in the Saetta 106 series, the 14th Saetta 120 (below), the 36th Navetta 33, and the 25th Navetta 30. “Saetta” (meaning “lightning” when translated from Italian) is the new name for Custom Line’s planning-yacht series.
