Brown tends to be a color visible in the teak decking and often the interior paneling aboard a superyacht. It isn’t, though, a tone you’d expect to see on a hull. But, the owner of the yacht Tamasha chose a pale brown to better convey how much life onboard will be about enjoying Mother Nature’s benefits.
As the first launch in the Bilgin 170 yacht series, Tamasha comes from the drawing boards of Unique Yacht Design. In working with the owner, Emrecan Özgün of the studio fully understood the owner’s vision. Above all, it was important “to create a yacht that is both a personal statement and a social hub,” Özgün explains. Additionally, from the proud bow to the large, open deck areas, “life onboard is intimately connected to the sea.” That notion extends to the hull paint, too. “Her distinctive light brown hull was chosen to create a stunning, organic harmony with the water,” Özgün says.

Part of that comes thanks to a beach club usable whether the weather cooperates or not. Specifically, on sunny days, three platforms (one to each side and one at the transom) all open. If it’s windy or otherwise not a warm day, though, the closed-up platforms have windows, so that the beach club remains bright. No details are available on the décor of the beach club, however, or the rest of the interiors, which the owner of the yacht Tamasha personalized with Hot Lab.
Sea trials should occur soon, with the last interior and on-deck furnishings going onboard. According to Bilgin Yachts, Tamasha should achieve a 5,000-nautical-mile range at 10 knots. Judging from what his representative says about the working relationship with Bilgin Yachts, the owner is looking forward to cruising as soon as possible. “This was one of the best projects in my life in terms of cooperation with the yard’s team,” notes Nikolay Kondratiev. He credits the craftspeople with “a high level of proficiency and responsibility” and Bilgin overall with “great corporate working culture and reliable top management.”

In the meantime, Bilgin Yachts has multiple megayachts in development. They include six further Bilgin 170 yachts, plus a 174-foot (53-meter) design that will become a new model. Additionally, clients have commissioned a 262-footer (80-meter), which is part of the ongoing Bilgin 262 series, and a 282-footer (86-meter).
