Meet the Micromilspec Milgraph T5, a new addition to the lineup, featuring red details on its new silver-white or black dial and available on a titanium bracelet or a red, white, or black rubber strap. You might have to look twice to see what’s new about the T5. Did you spot it? Instead of orange details, the T5 has red ones. And I have to say, the red does it. The use of red, white, and black is foolproof. It looks functional and crisp. And that’s what you want from a direct descendant of the brand’s very first watch, the Field Testing Unit (FTU), which was developed for military field testing before eventually being available to civilians.
Curious about the “T5” name, I did a little search. It turns out that T5 stands for “technician fifth grade.” This was a rank of the US Army from 1942 to 1948. The rank was established to honor enlisted soldiers with specialized technical expertise but who were not trained to serve as combat leaders. Now, the Micromilspec Milgraph T5 does indeed possess specialized technical expertise, as it is both a chronograph and a GMT watch. This could very well explain the name. The T5 is the latest Milgraph, and it differs from previous versions in that its silver-white or black dial features red details.
The Micromilspec Milgraph T5
Let’s go over the Milgraph’s basics one more time before pointing out the new elements you find on the T5. The watch has a 42mm case with a 15mm profile, a 50.3mm lug-to-lug, and a 200m water resistance rating. This case is made of Grade 5 titanium with a brushed finish to eliminate reflections.
The case features a characteristic bezel with an elapsed-time scale. Its design immediately stands out due to the four deep indents. This QuadGrip, as the brand calls it, adds practicality in turning the bezel and nice visual drama. The 60-minute scale continues even on the lower surfaces, so it does not interfere with the watch’s functionality. But you probably won’t need the QuadGrip unless you’re wearing gloves because the super-pronounced knurled edges make it very easy to rotate the bezel.
Last year, Micromilspec released the Milgraph White, and the light-colored T5 might have you confusing it for that model. But this latest release has a silvery-white dial with red details rather than a snow-white dial with orange ones. As mentioned, there’s also a black-dial counterpart, which features the same red accents.
Reading the Milgraph T5
The two new versions feature dials showing three sub-dials and the GMT function in a very legible setup. The 60-minute scale also has applied hour markers. On the rehaut, you will find a 24-hour GMT scale. The three sub-dials differ in both size and placement among the visual and functional hierarchies, with the smallest being the running seconds at 3 o’clock. The two chronograph registers outrank the small seconds and, consequently, are larger. And even among the chronograph counters, there’s a strict hierarchy. The largest is the 30-minute counter at 6 o’clock, and the 12-hour counter at 12 o’clock is the second largest on the dial.
The broad, oversized hour and minute hands are half-skeletonized, with the other half filled with Super-LumiNova X1. Topping the handstack is a slim seconds hand with a red tip, and the silver GMT hand, featuring a red arrow-shaped tip, lies nearest to the dial. Bright red and silver-white with contrasting black markings look crisp and clean. Apart from the two red tips, the word “MILGRAPH” on the dial is the third, subtle red element. The black-dial version is the more function-forward and basic of the two.
Movement, strap options, and pricing
The brushed titanium case houses the 4Hz La Joux-Perret L121 caliber, an automatic chronograph movement with a column wheel and a “caller” GMT function. This caliber has 26 jewels and offers a 60-hour power reserve.
Micromilspec offers the Milgraph T5 on a texturized white, black, or red rubber strap with a brushed titanium tang buckle for €3,500. Another option is a brushed titanium H-link bracelet with a push-button butterfly clasp. Equipped with this bracelet, the watch costs €4,000.
The Micromilspec Milgraph T5 is limited to 35 pieces this year, with delivery in Q4 2026. It’s available on the Micromilspec website now.
