On Saturday, September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Canelo Alvarez, the undisputed super middleweight champion, will put his four titles on the line in the ultimate legacy fight against Terence Crawford.
Beyond it being an undisputed title fight, the Canelo-Crawford clash is huge because it will see the latter jump two weight classes to challenge the Mexican icon for his title and the claim as the best fighter of the era.
This matchup is rare for many reasons.
Rarely will you see a fighter of Crawford’s ilk— he is a future Hall-of-Famer no matter what happens on Saturday—coming up two weight classes to fight another legend. It’s also rare to see two fighters with so much to lose putting it all on the line this way.
If you love–or even like boxing–and you have the means and/or availability, you’ll be in Vegas or watching the fight somewhere. Here’s the viewing information.

Walsh vs. Vargas Jr. has potential to be an entertaining co-main event.
With a main event this massive, it’s easy for matchups like this to get buried—but this one’s personal for both camps. Freddie Roach, who trains Walsh, believes this is the breakout moment his fighter’s been building toward. Walsh is aggressive, precise, and has a bit of that Irish brawler edge.

On the other side, Vargas Jr. has that name pressure on his back but insists he’s not just here to follow in his father’s footsteps. He’s unbeaten, confident, and stepping into the spotlight with something to prove. Expect this one to get lively quick.
Canelo-Crawford is being dubbed “Once in a Lifetime,” but no one would be shocked to see a rematch—especially if the fight is entertaining. The crazy thing about the fight is that Canelo is the one with the most on the line.
As the naturally bigger man, he is expected to win. If he does beat Crawford, some will say that’s what he should do. However, if he loses, despite Crawford’s obvious greatness, the critiques will be sharp against Canelo.
A win for Crawford makes him the undisputed best of his era. He’d still be undefeated and he will have done what almost no one gave him a chance to do—and that’s come up two divisions to defeat an all-time great.
This is legitimately a big fight. Stay tuned for fight week coverage culminating in a live results piece and more.
