A renowned design firm recently unveiled its latest project, a stylishly renovated home situated within the A-list neighborhood of Los Angeles‘s Nichols Canyon.
The four-bedroom, four-bath abode dates back to the 1940s. Amanda Leigh and Taylor Hahn of House of Rolison wanted to honor the property’s legacy, so instead of pulling out all the stops with a gut renovation, the duo more thoughtfully tweaked the home so that it still retains the classic elements that give it vintage character. The $4 million spread is listedby Claire and Sam O’Connor of O’Connor Estates.

Remaining the same is the structure’s classical architecture, with a large antique arched door leading into a foyer whose proportions were kept intact. Also nodding to the home’s history is the fireplace in the cozy living room and the original window configurations, which flood the space with natural light.
Leigh and Hahn have added their signature touch all over, though. The kitchen was fully reimagined, and it’s now a dark, moody space where the onyx cabinetry contrasts with the bright-white marble countertops. The primary suite is another spot where the designers took personal liberties: The fireplace-warmed bedroom is classic, while the bathroom sports a steam shower and a soaking tub framed by a statement black archway. A hidden sauna elsewhere in the house offers yet another respite.
Out back, there’s a pool, a fire pit, and a full outdoor kitchen.

Outside, a tiled terrace completely lines the back of the residence. Stairs lead down to the outdoor entertaining spaces, including a rectangular pool, an outdoor kitchen, and curving couches that surround a fire pit.
Nearby, celebrity neighbors include the likes of the actresses Sophia Bush and Kim Raver, which is fitting, given how many big names have shelled out for other properties designed by House of Rolison. The K-pop musician Lisa, from the group Blackpink, paid $4 million last year for a Beverly Hills mansion that carries the design firm’s touch. And at the end of 2023, the pop star Sabrina Carpenter splashed out $4.4 million on another of the duo’s redesigns. Her Hollywood Hills abode dates back to the 1930s and sports House of Rolison hallmarks like arched windows and rich wood paneling.
