Jennifer Aniston is a known flip-flop loving, California girl at heart, but she ditched her go-to casual sandals for Adidas sneakers while in New York on Thursday.
For one of her off-duty looks while promoting the upcoming season of “The Morning Show,” the actress stepped out in a formfitting, crisp white T-shirt and ankle-length, light-wash jeans with a frayed hem.

She wore a black sweater over her shoulders, which is necessary in New York this time of year, and capped off the look with red and white Adidas Sambas sneakers and no-show socks. The Samba OG sneakers, which currently retail for $100 and are available now on adidas.com, have remained the “It” girl sneaker of choice for the last few years.
Aniston’s Sambas were red and white and featured a smooth leather upper, the signature 3-Stripes on the side in a bright solar red color, with a white base, and a gum rubber outsole. The design includes a reinforced T-toe, a secure lace closure and a cushioned footbed for comfort.
The Adidas Samba was created in 1949 by the founder of Adidas, Adi Dassler. The low-profile shoe was originally designed to provide traction on soccer pitches and debuted in 1950. The silhouette blends a retro football-inspired design with a timeless street style that has experienced a resurgence in recent years, inspiring a plethora of designs and launching numerous collaborations, such as the widely successful Wales Bonner x Adidas Collection.
While other celebrities like Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski were big supporters of the Samba trend, Aniston is not often spotted wearing sneakers. The “Friends” alum often prefers to slide on Tkees Liners Flip-Flops or Birkenstock clogs for her casual outings. For this New York trip, the actress wore a custom pair of barely there slingback sandals for various events, as well as snakeprint Christian Louboutin sandals on Wednesday.
Aniston is in town to promote “The Morning Show”’s fourth season, which is set to premiere on Apple TV+ Sept. 17. The new chapter resumes nearly two years after the season three finale and centers on the fallout of the UBA-NBN merger alongside the network’s ongoing battle with misinformation.
