Minnesota’s Second Priciest Home Is This $22 Million Lake House

In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, it’s only fitting that Minnesota’s second-highest-priced home sits on the scenic shore of one of its most famous bodies of water, Lake Minnetonka.

The contemporary five-bedroom, nine-bath abode has just hit the market for $22 million, with Jeffrey Dewing at Coldwell Banker Realty holding the listing. Designed by architect Charles Stinson and completed in 2015, the 10,440-square-foot residence is a bit different from what you’d expect to find in the Midwest, as it prioritizes indoor-outdoor living and includes a bunch of sleek design details and amenities.

The main level sports a spacious, open layout, with several distinct spaces for both entertaining and relaxing. A fireplace heats up the living room, which abuts a large dining area. Framed by a 40-foot wall of sliding glass, this main room spills open to outdoor entertaining spaces that comprise an alfresco dining setup, a fireplace-warmed lounge, and an infinity-edge pool that looks out over the lake. On this floor, you’ll also find the primary suite, where both the bedroom and bathroom have spectacular floor-to-ceiling lake views.

The lower level includes four ensuite bedrooms where the rest of your family or guests can post up, along with a billiards room with a bar, a wine cellar with storage for more than 1,000 bottles, and a gym with a lake view that serves as a meditative distraction as you count down the reps.

With more than 350 feet of shoreline, the property offers unfettered access to the lake for swimming, boating, fishing, and other water-related recreational activities. Making days on the lake even more comfortable and luxe is the boathouse pavilion right by the dock. Inside, there’s a kitchenette, a half bath, and laundry facilities for bathing suits and beach towels. Just outside you can enjoy the outdoor shower, while up top is a rooftop deck, and nearby is a rock-lined fire pit. The six-car garage is equipped with an EV charging station, and, this being Minnesota, where the winters regularly plunge below freezing, it is also thoughtfully heated.

The spread is a rare offering in the Gopher State, where such extravagant homes don’t hit the market all that often. The most expensive listing in the state, also on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, popped up earlier this year: a $55 million manse. Still on the market, Lake Point Estate boasts eight bedrooms and a whopping 18 bathrooms, plus a bowling alley, a cigar lounge, and other luxe amenities.
