Margot Robbie‘s see-through dress with allover floral beadwork gave sheer dressing a wholly couture spin by the late Giorgio Armani. Robbie paid homage to the designer by wearing the dress to the London premiere of her new film “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” on Thursday.
The Oscar-nominated actress wore a completely transparent dress, featuring delicate fabric covered in ornate beadwork that incorporated botanicals and sinuous shapes. The floor-length, sleeveless gown featured thin, jewel-encrusted straps brought together in a bold pendant at the center of the back.

Fabric was omitted from the sides of the dress, curating a nod to sensuality and femininity. The soft, muted tones of the jewels and beads used throughout the garment created an incandescent quality. Robbie went minimal with her accessories, save for two rings and stud earrings, to keep her gown the focal point of her look. Robbie was styled by Andrew Mukamal.
The late Giorgio Armani, who died at the age of 91 on Sept. 4, debuted the Privé label’s spring 2025 couture collection during Paris Couture Week in January 2025. This year marks the Privé couture collection’s 20th anniversary and, as such, Armani celebrated with sparkle and shine.

The collection found points of reference from Japan, China, India, North Africa and Polynesia. “All these rich cultures were etched ever so gently in silhouettes and expressed more vividly via prints, embroideries and beading,” Miles Socha wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.
“Here was a collection defined largely by shimmering or sparkling surface decoration — more than usual chez Armani, from those glass-like fabrics he’s been fond of lately to fully beaded gowns with a tulle overlay bearing even more embellishments.”

Margot Robbie is among a string of celebrities and public figures who’ve worn Armani designs. During the 2024 awards season, Robbie wore a custom pink Armani Privé look inspired by the 1977 Superstar Barbie doll to the Golden Globe Awards.
Robbie costars alongside Colin Farrell in filmmaker Kogonada’s “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.” The film follows two strangers and the journey that take to form an even deeper connection. “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” hits theaters Sept. 19.
