Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford Updates and Results
Keep refreshing as the most recent updates will appear at the top of the page.
Sultan Almohammed vs. Martin Caraballo is next…
Raiko Santana def. Steven Nelson via TKO1
The referee may have acted too quickly on this stoppage. No doubt Nelson was in trouble, but referee Robert Boyle called an end to the fight as Nelson ate some hard combinations.
This probably should have been called a knockdown and not a TKO.
Still, Nelson handled himself much better than Akale did earlier and the former had more of a legitimate beef.

Marco Verde def. Sona Akale via TKO in the fourth round
Verde, a fighter Canelo Alvarez called the next great Mexican fighter, destroyed a game but overmatched opponent. Akale didn’t want to go away, but he was clearly not on the upcoming star’s level.
Akale is a delusional fighter. He’s got great heart, but his reaction once the referee stopped the fight proves he isn’t seeing things clearly. The contest was over and he seemed to be the only one who wasn’t aware.
He essentially embarrassed himself. It’s too bad because he has a lot of heart. In any case, Verde improved to 3-0 and he looks like a legit problem at middleweight. He’s probably two or three years away from a title shot–unless he is fast tracked.
