LONDON — Pinstriped suit, dagger collar shirt, gemstone rings. Joe Corré — son of Vivienne Westwood and Malcom McLaren — looks like a man who has seen it all. He’s virtually done it all, too: from lingerie to suiting inspired by London in the 1800s, as both co-founder of Agent Provocateur and founder of A Child of the Jago. Now, he’s unveiling his latest venture: The Light House, a four-storey retailer and members club housed in a Victorian townhouse on Berwick Street that looks more like a bordello than a traditional boutique.

The space, designed by Corré himself, offers an eclectic mix, from latex lingerie and leather corsetry to rare jewellery and bespoke tailoring. There are pieces from A Child of the Jago, hand-woven nomad coats by Benedict Lamb, and vintage Westwood, John Galliano and Katherine Hamnett. The ground floor features a member’s bar.
“I want to establish the importance of this place as a meeting spot,” said Corré. “I want to support craftsmanship and independent designers. I will be giving space to new designers frequently. There will also be vintage markets where the dealers can really explain the importance of the garment to the customer. It’s a place for curiosity and conversation.”
