Bowers & Wilkins just dropped what may be its best headphones yet.
The British audio giant has unveiled its new Px8 S2, a lightweight listening device crafted from Nappa leather and aluminum. The new piece is an update on the brand’s flagship Px8, which nabbed our prize for the Best Designed Headphones in our annual Audio Awards this year.
And with this new launch, which retails for $799, Bowers & Wilkins has certainly upped the ante. The pair, done up in either an Onyx Black or neutral Warm Stone colorway, offers up what the brand touts as its best headphone sound quality to date. To do just that, the pair is equipped with 24-bit DSP combined with a custom-designed 40 mm Carbon Cone drive units—tech that has been optimized to reduce distortion and enhance audio resolution for that crystal-clear sound.
The Px8 S2 also hangs its hat on its noise cancellation, using eight microphones to shut out any unwanted sound and provide great quality on calls. And, thanks to the all-new design, with a slimmer fit and memory foam cups, the new headphones are comfortable enough to wear wherever your roam. And, as far as battery life, you can expect 30 hours of juice here, along with a speedy charge that lets you gain seven hours of use in just 15 minutes. Plus, the new launch can be paired with Bowers & Wilkins Music app, too.
Of course, the audio maker is no stranger to luxe sound. B&W’s Pi8 earbuds offers up plenty of premium performance, as well as that noise cancellation feature. And earlier this year, the brand dropped a pair of limited-edition loudspeakers, retailing for $70,000, with some help from the famed Abbey Road Studios. The 801 Abbey Road Limited Edition are based on the 801 D4 Signature, with only 140 pairs up for grabs—though, sadly, they all sold out rather quickly after their launch, but you could try to nab the loudspeakers on the secondary market.
You (hopefully) won’t run into that problem with the new Px8 S2. To snag your pair of the new headphones today, head to the brand’s website or select retailers.
