Where Will Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Honeymoon?

At 6.01 p.m. on Tuesday, an hour into a five-hour train to Edinburgh, my phone buzzed—then buzzed again, and again, and again. The BBC News ‘breaking news’ notification chimed: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announce their engagement. Along with 13 million other chronically online people, I zoomed in on the ring and tried to work out where the engagement shoot had happened. But soon, my thoughts turned to the most exciting part of any wedding—the honeymoon. Where will the internet’s royal couple choose to spend the biggest holiday of their lives? Will they go low-key and off-grid, seeking out a super-secluded private island, perhaps? Maybe they’ll return to a previous holiday hotspot or seek out a Euro summer? Wherever they choose, we can all but guarantee it’ll kickstart a trend for romantic getaways to that location—so I asked our team of travel editors to weigh in with guesses, ideas, and recommendations.

Lake Como, Italy

It doesn’t matter if you’re a billionaire celebrity power couple or an ordinary spouse-to-be—the romance and allure of the Italian lakes is everlasting. Something Taylor and Travis know All Too Well, as they cleverly chose Lake Como for a getaway last year. Why not return, then, for the most romantic holiday of all—their honeymoon? I’d recommend booking one of the private villas at Grand Hotel Tremezzo, a film-set-like, Grand Budapest Hotel-style property with staggering views across the water. —Sarah James, digital editor

South Africa

When I picture Taylor and Travis on a honeymoon, I imagine them all giddy with excitement and desperate for some time alone, away from crowds and snapping photographers. But, having said that, I can’t see either of them as the type of people who can sit still for long. A holiday that feels far removed from reality but has plenty of activities and things to do is my bet—and I think Travis’ golden retriever energy and Taylor’s wide-eyed wonder of the world lend themselves nicely to a safari honeymoon. South Africa provides plenty of options to choose from—a classic safari destination with renowned private conservation areas and game reserves. The Farmstead at Royal Malewane (owned by the Biden family, no less, who Taylor famously endorsed back in 2020) should do the trick, with private, secluded villas, vast sweeping views across the 30,000 acres of Thornybush Game Reserveplains and plenty of romantic corners to watch the sunset and catch a glimpse of a lion or two (we will, of course, be waiting with bated breath in the hope that Travis gifts us with a post-Big Five sighting quote as iconic as his “I just gave a squirle a peice of bread” Tweet). —Olivia Morelli, digital features editor

French Polynesia

If these two are going to want-slash-need anything on their honeymoon, it’s privacy. Which is why a far-flung resort on a private island would be a wise choice—a place where they can decamp and go unbothered by the outside world, which will inevitably have been riled into a frenzy by their preceding nuptials. Consider The Brando, which Traveler’s Megan Spurrell visited last year. The story goes that actor Marlon Brando first arrived on the 18-isle atoll of Tetiaroa by water—as in, he swam ashore. While scouting locations for his 1962 movie Mutiny on the Bounty, his canoe overturned and he arrived on the island where the owner, known to be territorial over her slice of paradise, welcomed him, but with a rifle in hand. Nearly 60 years later, what the Hollywood star acquired and turned into a beloved hideaway is maintained as a resort by the late actor’s family. This is exactly the sort of pedigree that Taylor would appreciate, and while they could certainly afford a buyout, the discrete clientele would not necessitate such measures.

Utah

We all heard about Taylor and Travis’s trip to Big Sky in Montana, a region of the US well known for its dramatic landscape and beautiful outdoors. It was the perfect balance of enjoying what’s on your doorstep, but in serious style. With a couple as famous as these two, they will undoubtedly be looking for a good dose of peace and quiet while on honeymoon—a place to get away from the public eye – and what better place to do so than Amangiri in Utah? It’s off-the-beaten track, while still being the pinnacle of luxury – the perfect destination to unwind after what is destined to be a fabulous wedding. I expect we’ll be seeing photos of them enjoying the vast expanse of the Colorado Plateau and sweet pictures of them exploring the untouched desert terrain. —Amber Port, senior manager, audience development

Iceland

Where do you take the woman who has likely been to almost every country in the world on the most special trip of her lifetime? Somewhere remote, of course. We know Taylor doesn’t shudder at the idea of the cold (in fact, she’s been known to romanticize autumn and winter on many occasions) and she wrote and recorded Folklore (one of her best albums, in my opinion) in isolation during the pandemic, so she can certainly thrive in a quiet environment – particularly as she’ll have a busy few months ahead promoting her upcoming album. Highland Base Hotel offers an escape in the remote highlands in central Iceland, a place formerly off-limits in winter. I can see her and Travis strolling through the windy hills in the day, and hunkering down in front of a fire come evening. —Abigail Malbon, global audience development manager

The Cotswolds

My mind initially pictured this world-famous couple heading for the rolling hills, rustic farmhouses, and verdant evergreens of Tuscany. On second thought, that image might be all too familiar since Kylie Jenner and co’s Insta-famous 2025 Eurosummer, so instead, I’ve decided to hedge my bets a little closer to home: The Cotswolds. Perhaps a weekend at Cowley Manor awaits (no better place to enjoy a cocktail post spa treatment in my opinion), or a few nights in one of Estelle Manor’s private cottages before a longer stint in one of the best cottages to rent in the Cotswolds? —Sarah Bannerman

Paris, France

Swifties know Taylor was taken by the view, like we were in Paris. And where better for the upcoming TikTok FYP’s ‘royal wedding’ couple to spend their honeymoon than the city of love? I imagine them sipping on chocolat chaud at Les Deux Magots—I think we can safely assume Taylor would love the café littéraire’s history steeped in art and philosophy. After all, he knows how to ball, she knows Aristotle. Dare I say it might even be the ideal spot to start writing some TS13 lyrics? A walk along the Seine or a trip to Jardin du Luxembourg, followed by dinner at Carboni’s or French classic Le Verre Volé, sounds like a Lover itinerary to me. Maybe Taylor and Travis’ Paris bucket list mirror(ball)s mine and they’re planning a stay at La Fantasie or Le Grand Mazarin with floral interiors fit to rival their engagement floristry backdrop. —Hattie Cotmore, affiliates producer
