Adidas is getting into the safety footwear category via a new partnership with protective equipment company GLO Brands B.V.
According to GLO, a unit of Bunzl plc, the new high-performance safety footwear range is “designed to support working professionals who perform under pressure in the toughest environments.”
Dubbed “Adidas Pro Work,” the first collection is expected to debut in the second quarter of 2026 through select distribution partners and channels. The collection will combine “functional protection with comfort and aesthetics, ensuring professionals don’t have to compromise on style or safety,” the company stated.
Lauren Mooney, general manager of GLO, said that the company will “translate” Adidas’ design vision into specialist footwear backed by rigorous supply chain standards.
“Adidas and GLO together are suited to bring to market best-in-class safety shoes – where uncompromising protection meets unique Adidas style,” Mooney said.
This news comes after Adidas posted net sales of 5.95 billion euros in the second quarter and growth of 12 percent on a currency-adjusted basis.
That adds up to 14 percent growth in currency neutral terms over the first half of this year. So far in 2025, the company’s net sales total 12.11 billion euros.
“We have achieved this despite all the challenges,” Adidas chief executive officer Bjorn Gulden told journalists at a press conference revealing the results in Germany this July. “Our brand is hot. I think of course that’s partly because of 76 years of history and accumulated marketing, but also our teams both globally and centrally putting us back in front of the consumer again.”
Adidas saw growth in all product categories and sales territories between April and June and order books were full until the end of this year, Gulden said. Adidas’ ambition is to be the leader in all markets except North America. There the brand has the objective of doubling its business.
The German sportswear brand is expected to release its next earnings report on Oct. 29.
