I thought this would be a watch I’d like to own and wear; however, the price is tough to swallow. The Unimatic x Massena Lab U1-SPG “NASA Artemis” model, released earlier this year, was priced at $1,295 and featured a Seiko NH34A movement. As TanTan noted in that review, even that price was steep for what you received. At €2,500, this new model costs nearly double that of a time-only watch. To put this in perspective, Unimatic’s recently released 600m diver retails for €1,500 and uses the same Sellita SW200-1 movement, which means you’re paying an additional €1,000 premium specifically for the Cerakote coating and meteorite dial. While these are premium features, other brands have demonstrated that meteorite dials no longer command such significant price increases.
