The focal point of this release is Crystalium, Ulysse Nardin’s proprietary material that starts with ruthenium—a platinum-group metal that’s 10 times rarer than platinum. Over several days, this metal undergoes a controlled vapor-deposition crystallization process, similar to how frost forms on glass. The result is natural, fractal-like crystal structures that are impossible to duplicate, making each piece unique. To complete the process, each disc receives a warm rose gold PVD finish and black shading, hand-applied with fine varnish to deepen contrast and emphasize details, with the ultimate aim of enhancing its interaction with light.
