Megayacht News is committed to a simple but powerful principle: original reporting. When we published our first story in 2007, “churnalism,” the practice of copying and pasting press releases, dominated online yachting media. It’s still prevalent among some outlets today. We believed 18 years ago that readers deserve better. We believe it just as strongly today, an era where accuracy and trust are even more crucial.
Readers are the most valuable resource for media, which is why your feedback directly shapes our content. We’ve staked our reputation on listening, in addition to adapting to new ways to communicate, be it audio or video. We’re asking for your help once more to shape the future of our content, through our reader survey.
In fact, many of the most significant Megayacht News developments began with your requests. For example, a few years after we began publishing, you made it clear that you wanted more news, more often. Therefore, we switched from publishing interviews, stories on yacht launches, and related articles five days a week to every day. Multiple articles publish daily during the week, too. Additionally, following requests for more destination articles, we delivered—and in a different way than other yachting media. Rather than republish generic itineraries, we tap captains, crew, and others with first-hand, extensive experience cruising these regions. This results in more in-depth, informative, and engaging articles—and more of you reading them as a result.
Finally, we’re proud to have pioneered the first superyacht podcast series, Megayacht News Radio, over a decade ago. While more podcasts about superyachts have emerged in recent years, none does what we do, specifically tailor the conversations to American owners and their advisors. We’re also currently halfway through producing episodes for season 3 of The Yacht Law Podcast, where some of the best topics have come from your suggestions.
Your time is valuable, which is why this year’s reader survey is quick to complete. It takes less than 60 seconds. Simply add your name in the box above, and we’ll send it to you. We also will randomly choose one person to receive a $100 gift card as a way of saying thanks.
