Inditex-Linked Foundation to Stage Annie Leibovitz Exhibition in Spain

The Marta Ortega Pérez Foundation, whose eponymous founder and president is the chairperson of Zara-owner Inditex, is set to mount Spain’s first major survey of American photographer Annie Leibovitz’s work.

Titled “Wonderland,” the show will trace five decades of Leibovitz’s career, from her early portraits of musicians for Rolling Stone through her defining work for Vogue and influential fashion photography, much of it never previously exhibited. The exhibition opens in A Coruña, where the Spanish fast-fashion giant maintains its headquarters, on Nov. 22.

“Annie has a magical ability to catch the aura of the people she is photographing,” Ortega Pérez said in a statement. “I am thrilled she will be the first woman to present work as part of our programme.”

Since the Marta Ortega Pérez Foundation’s was established in 2022, it has cemented its A Coruña space as Spain’s leading venue for major photography exhibitions. The Leibovitz show follows on acclaimed presentations of work by Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Helmut Newton, Irving Penn and David Bailey.
