The Below Deck franchise has returned to Spain, although this time with a superyacht not previously on the show. Barcelona and the surrounding areas are the cruising grounds for the yacht Bravado in Below Deck Mediterranean season 10, which premieres next month.
Fans and entertainment news outlets actually learned about the yacht and the location last year, when filming began. Series regulars like Capt. Sandy Yawn, who has helmed each yacht in the Med series since season 1, were seen, too. However, many online reports had the superyacht’s name incorrect, referring to her as Bravado Valetta by unknowingly including her port of registry.
A 147-footer (45-meter), Bravado launched 21 years ago at Abeking & Rasmussen. Since that time, a few successive owners have maintained her well and had her undergo yard periods for upgrades. Currently, her décor is primarily a crisp white, with striking artwork and pops of color coming from furnishings. Some areas feature carpeting underfoot, although classically appealing wood soles characterize hallways, stairs, and staterooms.
Speaking of staterooms, the yacht Bravado breaks with tradition for the master suite and one of the five guest accommodations. Firstly, the master suite is on the bridge deck, spanning nearly 29 feet (9 meters) wide. Additionally, it opens up to its own 269-square-foot (25-square-meter) gym. Rimmed in full-height windows, the gym further has a cozy seating area for two, plus a small office area. As for the atypical guest stateroom, it’s a full-beam VIP on the main deck—where you would expect to have seen the master suite. Two twin staterooms and two double staterooms are below decks, though, as usual.
Given Bravado’s initial delivery in 2004, it’s not too surprising to find a separate formal dining area on the main deck, instead of an open-plan saloon and dining area. It suits her overall design, especially the time-honored blue hull pairing with the white superstructure. Her alfresco amenities are further time-honored, ranging from big seating areas at the far ends of decks for the best views, a hot tub, a bar, and a dining area.
Below Deck Mediterranean premieres on September 29 on Bravo, streaming on Peacock the following day. In the meantime, Bravado is listed for sale, asking €16.5 million via the central agency of Fraser Yachts. She’ll further be part of Fraser’s in-water display at the Monaco Yacht Show the week prior to the show airing, available for private tours.
