Who Wore the Labubu Costume at the Emmy Awards 2025?

The Emmy Awards 2025 red carpet saw couture, sequins, plenty of sparkle and a Labubu costume.

Thanks to drag queen Joella, a “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum, the Pop Mart character made its debut at the awards ceremony on Sunday in Los Angeles. The artist wore a head-to-toe Labubu look featuring oversized faux-fur ears, a round cartoony mask with wide-eyed makeup detailing, and a scarlet brocade apron layered over the plush costume. Joella accessorized the playful ensemble with red embroidered slippers and a novelty takeout-box handbag.

Labubu has become a cultural obsession and a must-have fashion accessory over the past two years. With limited-edition drops, high resale markups and celebrity endorsements, the Labubu mania has swept across fashion, streetwear and pop culture spaces.

Joella, however, wasn’t the only queen from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” turning heads on the red carpet. Kori King wore a head-to-toe Michael Jackson tribute costume, complete with signature sparkling glove and fedora, channeling the pop icon’s signature stage look.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” secured Emmy nominations in 2025 for Outstanding Competition Program and Outstanding Host. The long-running series has become an awards show mainstay, using its platform to merge mainstream recognition with drag artistry and subcultural celebration.
