Those RIBs include NATO-compatible platforms and engineering meeting the European Commission’s requirements. Considering military operations require reliability far from shore, that type of performance should lend peace of mind to yacht owners. So, too, should the aluminum hull’s reported stability while hitting a top speed upwards of 50 knots.
Additionally, the contributions of Italian designer Tommaso Spadolini translate to recreational appeal. Undoubtedly, the standout feature aboard is the lateral terrace.. It lends superyacht sophistication while catering to a few practical needs. For instance, it makes guest movement to and from the mothership easier. It also makes enjoying watersports easier. It’s the type of detail that makes a tender more than a means of transportation. “We wanted to create a chase boat that delivers performance and practicality without compromising on design sophistication,” Spadolini explains. Add in stowage for toys like stand-up paddleboards, Seabobs, waterskis, and more, and the TYKUN X chase boat is all the more versatile.
Perhaps most importantly, MED Group makes each TYKUN X chase boat on a semi-custom basis. Not only can you pick from a variety of colors, but also you can select the electronics and seating configuration. The aft seats, for example, can convert to a sunbed, and a head can go inside the helm console. Yet another option, creating a berth inside that console. As MED Group points out, it’s a level of customization atypical of the RIB marketplace.
With years of research and development backing it, the tender pledges to be genuinely different. Marco Galimberti, MED Group’s CEO, believes the “combination of the power and grit of a military vessel with the style and comfort found in superyacht tenders” is ideal to reveal at the Monaco Yacht Show.
