Koenigsegg Replaced a Burned-up Jesko With the Sleek Nür Revenge

A Koenigsegg Jesko burned to the ground last year, prompting the Swedish hypercar company to issue a recall and tell owners to stop driving the model. Koenigsegg also said at the time it would make things right with the owner of the burned car, and now it has with the Koenigsegg Jesko Nür Revenge, a replacement that feels even more special than the original.

The Jesko Nür Revenge was revealed on Instagram, covered in “naked” carbon fiber just like the original. The car also has “gold leaf” details, which are the same options that the original burned-up vehicle had. The burned-up Jesko, though, was one of just four with the carbon fiber body and gold leaf accents, making the Nür Revenge the fifth, with still only four surviving. That means that it’s just as rare as the original, and also genuinely unique, given the backstory.

The Nür Revenge is also more special because it has more gold than the original, including in the wing endplates, and more gold-colored bits, like the brake calipers and the gold thread stitching in the interior, according to Road & Track. Perhaps the owner of the burned Jesko decided that for the second go-around the car needed more gold, or perhaps Koenigsegg added more as an apology, but, as a whole, the new auto looks stunning. The car is also adorned with a Jesko Nür Revenge nameplate.

The original car cost in the neighborhood of $3 million, and the replacement would likely be similarly priced if not for the circumstances. Like the original and other Jeskos, the Jesko Nür Revenge makes 1,280 horsepower from a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that’s mated to a nine-speed multi-clutch transmission. The massive downforce generated by the Jesko’s aerodynamics is the other headline attraction, making it one of the fastest and grippiest street-legal cars on the planet.

Koenigsegg had planned to build just 125 Jeskos, including the variations Jesko Attack, Jesko Absolut, and Sadair’s Spear. The Jesko Nür Revenge is now the 126th, and maybe even the last Jesko, though it wouldn’t be a shocker if the brand decided it needed to make a few more between now and eternity. A car as special as the Jesko lends itself to that.
