The yacht Deep Blue is nearing delivery, currently on sea trials. She’s moving closer to becoming one of the 30 largest superyachts in the world, and the largest delivery of 2025.
Four years of construction have led to sea trials going on this week from Lürssen’s facilities. Featuring design by the shipyard, too, the 440-footer (134-meter) remains largely under a publicity embargo. According to AIS records, her volume should be 9,000 gross tons. Sources differ as to her length and beam, though. Some indicate she’s 445 feet (137 meters) long and beam may be as much as 72 feet (22 meters).

Despite the confidentiality surrounding her design, a few amenities are evident. For instance, the yacht Deep Blue has a helipad, as you would expect, on her foredeck. Additionally, the uppermost of her six decks has an alfresco observation and lounging area forward, plus another one fully aft. Full-height glass, meanwhile, frames an enclosed area in between. While it could be another observation lounge, based on what some yacht owners request, it instead could be a gym. Finally, a handful of pools are aboard, with a prominent one close to the waterline aft.
Delivery could come as early as November. In terms of her world ranking, some media are reporting that another project will surpass her. Specifically, they state that REV Ocean will be the largest yacht delivery of the year. Her LOA is certainly far bigger, 639 feet (195 meters). However, REV Ocean is not a yacht, and not ready for delivery. She’s classed as a research vessel, with some yacht-like amenities. She will become available for mission-specific charters—meaning charters where guests can meet and assist scientists and researchers—in 2027.
