The functions themselves are impressive, with considerable watchmaking behind the scenes to bring them to life. The movement, crafted from microblasted grade 5 titanium, has a variety of other features. The watch has a Glucydur balance wheel (2 arms and 4 setting screws, moment of inertia 11.5 mg•cm2, angle of lift 53°, which is not super high spec, but at least openly addmitted) with Elinvar balance spring, and all the requisite shock protection you’d want for an RM movement (checked with 120 internal tests and up to 5,000 G’s) and antimagnetic qualities from the brand’s nickel-free Chronifer barrel shaft. The watch has two column wheels (which the brand says have never been used before on a flyback chronograph and are a patented design). One column wheel handles start and stop, while the other handles flyback and reset.
The barrel (giving 70 hours of power reserve) rotates more quickly, reducing periodic internal mainspring adhesion and allowing a better delta curve, so the watch has better regularity while still retaining a lot of power. Finally, the barrel pawl features a progressive recoil function to improve winding gain (power uptake), especially at the start of the winding.
