Atlas Ocean Voyages has reported the strongest January booking performance in the company’s history, signaling that its recent pivot toward “year-round yachting” and the unveiling of its future fleet are resonating with luxury travelers.
The cruise line announced that bookings for January 2026 grew by more than 60% compared to the same period last year and nearly tripled the volume from January 2024. Atlas attributes the surge to a combination of new strategic initiatives, including the debut of its “Enhanced Explorer’s Choice” offer and the positive market reaction to the Atlas Adventurer, the company’s first new-build sailing yacht.
As reported previously in LTA, the Atlas Adventurer is scheduled to join the fleet in late 2028. The 400-guest vessel represents a significant evolution for the brand, moving beyond the current polar-focused expedition model into the “megayacht” category. The new hardware will feature a hybrid propulsion system and three carbon-fiber masts with solid sails controlled by artificial intelligence, designed to target warmer climates in the Mediterranean and Asia.
While the new tonnage won’t arrive for another two years, the announcement appears to have created a halo effect for the existing fleet. The record-breaking performance in January highlights increasing interest in Atlas’ unique approach to luxury expedition travel, which is now available year-round and extends well beyond the polar regions.
“January marked one of the strongest booking months in Atlas Ocean Voyages’ history, setting a powerful tone for 2026,” James A. Rodriguez, President and CEO of Atlas Ocean Voyages, said in a statement. “A more than 60 percent year-over-year increase in bookings and nearly three times the volume of January 2024 signal not only heightened demand but also increased consumer confidence in the Atlas brand. We are seeing strong forward booking trends, healthy pricing, and earlier purchase behavior, all of which reinforce the durability and long-term revenue potential of our year-round luxury expedition model.”
The growth is also being driven by the trade. Atlas noted that the response from travel partners has been a critical factor in the January success, following a push to increase support and engagement with advisors.
“The response from our travel partners has been incredible,” added Kristian C. Anderson, Executive Vice President of Global Sales at Atlas Ocean Voyages. “We made a sincere commitment to provide our partners with enhanced access, additional layers of support, and a more robust in-market engagement, and we’re delivering on that promise. We encourage travel advisors to connect with our sales team at [email protected] to be introduced to their regional sales director and learn how we can support them in delivering exceptional experiences for their most valued luxury clients.”
