The success of the Benetti Oasis Deck over the past five years has led to the design feature growing across multiple semi-custom models. The newest is the Benetti Oasis 42M yacht series, which already has attracted one customer.
Although the megayacht resembles her predecessors, the designers at RWD, responsible for styling, made some adjustments. “Its softer, pebble-like lines create a yacht that feels sleek, natural, and enduringly elegant,” says Mark Gardner, RWD’s director of exterior design.
Similarly, Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, responsible for all Oasis interiors, made updates. As much as customers can tailor the décor, the studio saw the chance to freshen choices. “The focus is still on an open and fluid plan,” notes Enrico Bonetti of the studio. The difference is “unexpected and consistent materials that gradually progress toward a more refined and tactile quality of details, the deeper you enter the boat.” So, for example, metal and travertine marble inserts are available in areas like the saloon. Further surprising but still natural materials are available, too, throughout the spaces, which prioritize eliminating barriers to enjoying the ocean.
To that end, the main deck’s dining area flows directly out to the Benetti Oasis 42M yacht’s namesake, the Oasis Deck. It’s the expansive, terraced aft deck boasting 1,076 square feet (100 square meters) of usable space and opening sides. This includes an 89-square-foot (8.3-square meter) pool with a retractable cover. The Benetti Oasis 42M yacht additionally offers a fold-down balcony fully forward inside on the same level. It complements a choice of a gym, a spa, or a cinema room, in another unexpected way to open up spaces.
Most superyacht owners would expect the master suite to be forward on the main deck. However, Benetti and the designers suggest a more prominent position, specifically the upper deck. This way, buyers get a 538-square-foot (50-square-meter) private space with panoramic views. It further has a private outdoor area of nearly the same size. The owner of hull number one really liked this layout. Of course, future series buyers can request the master on the main deck so that the upper deck space becomes a skylounge instead.
Regardless of interior choices, clients certainly will enjoy one more outdoor area besides the Oasis Deck. The sundeck stretches 57 feet (17.3 meters) long. From sunning to practicing yoga, and from dining to entertaining, it allows numerous configurations. Select a hot tub, for example, or a bar—or both. A lounge fully forward is yet another option, for taking in the views while at anchor and underway.
With an expected best range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, the Benetti Oasis 42M yacht relies upon diesel-electric propulsion. Created with Siemens, it offers an electric-only mode. Overall, the package received a three-star certification from SEA Index, which calculates a yacht’s carbon-dioxide emissions. (A five-star rating is the highest achievement.)
