Previous experience with Cantiere delle Marche and admiration for another of its deliveries influenced the signing of a new contract with the builder. Though details are scarce, the owners are building a Cantiere delle Marche 45-meter explorer yacht, larger and more complex than their prior megayacht.
In fact, their new project not only is longer, but also has more volume than the Nauta Air 110 they cruised aboard. Dimensions alone didn’t drive their decision, however. Instead, it was the ability to pursue more long-range, adventurous cruising in more comfort.
It further helped that the owners had seen the yacht Tremenda (below), which Cantiere delle Marche delivered last year. That yacht’s styling, by Giorgio M. Cassetta of Cassetta Yacht Designers, really caught their attention. With nothing superfluous and purposeful yet unmistakably yacht-like lines, Tremenda was a starting point. Simultaneously, the features the owners appreciated from their Nauta Air 110 came into play. Further having new ideas in mind, they met with Cassetta and Cantiere delle Marche.
As much as there was a meeting of the minds, the Cantiere delle Marche 45-meter explorer yacht required extra effort. Cassetta notes that “aesthetic and technical challenges” arose in the design iterations. He credits his team and the shipyard “for their proactive and swift approach” in trying to solve them. “We look forward to sharing more about how the owners’ vision, the yard’s expertise, and our contribution will shape another unique vessel,” he says.
Cassetta Yacht Designers is also handling interior design with the superyacht’s owners. “A yacht that is consistent and harmonious throughout,” according to Cassetta, is the overriding principle. “The owners envision a calm atmosphere onboard, filled with light and warmth, and defined by purity and softness,” he adds.
