Although the owner is anonymous, a client has commissioned a custom tender from Falcon Tenders and Tim Heywood Design. The 36-footer (11-meter) reflects classically nautical style elements wrapped within one of the most distinctive exterior profile designs.
With a 9’8” (3-meter) beam, the tender needed first and foremost to be practical. For instance, the owner anticipated guests boarding in multiple situations, from dockside to at anchor. Therefore, the configuration allows boarding both fore and aft. Similarly, they—and the crew—have access to the enclosed cabin from both areas. Not simply a shuttle for carrying 11 people between the land and the megayacht, the tender was envisioned as an extension of her mothership. This meant the possibility of encountering some not-so-smooth seas. Falcon Tenders installed gyroscopic stabilizers to ensure enjoying relaxed trips and each other’s good company were possible. On a related note, the design takes into account the possibility of the owner switching to diesel-electric propulsion in the future, for quieter and more mindful operations.

Further important to the owner, the profile needed to complement his superyacht. The identity of that yacht is confidential, but Tim Heywood’s signature style is clearly evident in the 36-footer’s looks. If you’re a fan of his large-yacht designs, you’ll especially recognize the flow of the navy paint aft. It mimics the slope of his hulls. The curves evident in the windshield framing and the stainless steel arches framing the driving cockpit speak to Heywood’s style, too. All the while, the tender has her own personality.
Through navy leather and rich wood, the Falcon Tenders project exudes traditional maritime looks inside the cabin. The same materials are in the driving cockpit as well. Furthermore, round dials and a wood wheel echo time-honored runabout aesthetics.

Intended for stowing inside a tender garage—the boat is just 6’5” (1.97 meters) high—the boat was an enjoyable project for Falcon Tenders. “Tim’s ability to distill iconic superyacht styling into an 11-meter platform is exceptional,” says Mark Pascoe, the company’s founder and CEO. He adds that his team and the designer share a desire to infuse elegance and comfort into every project. “It is a tender designed not just to perform, but to belong alongside the world’s most prestigious yachts,” he notes.
